The Dhaka Bar Association is one of the leading and renowned Bar Associations in Bangladesh. Established in the year 1889 A.D., it has been playing an important role in upholding the rule of law and ensuring fair and accurate justice while facing various challenges up to the present day.
This association has played a significant role in upholding the image of Bangladesh in the international arena. The Dhaka Bar Association has always taken a forward-looking stance in protecting the interests of individuals and society as a whole, including its active involvement in all movements of public interest (“Gono Andolon”).
The association has consistently worked on the front line to ensure legal rights are achieved swiftly and effectively. The role of the Dhaka Bar Association during the “Vasa Andolon” (Language Movement) in 1952 A.D. was particularly glorious and noteworthy.
Moreover, the learned members of this association actively participated in the Liberation War of 1971 as freedom fighters. With the support and contributions of the learned advocates of this association, the nation was safeguarded from internal threats and external enemies, ultimately achieving independence.
